I've loved a romantic side of the sky since my childhood; I used to build flying models of planes and gliders and dream of becoming an aircraft designer like Andrey Tupolev, who has once said: 'Only a beautiful plane can fly'. However, I took another career path, and still kept drawing beautiful planes. When I got familiar with works of Lucio Perinotto, I was astonished by his tremendous talent and considered him the best aviation artist. I wrote him a letter asking for permission to woodburn pictures after his paintings but received no answer. Then I decided to burn out pictures for my own pleasure.
